Our town is very quiet; not much doing among the mer vhants, as the farmers are too busy with their work to come to town only when they are obliged to. W. 11. Glenn, of Columbia, visited the home of Mrs. Bessie 0. Smith, Saturday and Sun ,day. Mrs. Robert Bryant and chil dren of Atlanta are spending this week with Mrs. W. L. Boggs. Miss Leila Alford, of Green -ville, visited Mrs. J. H. Brown, Sunday. W. B. Glenn, accompanied by his little niece, Marie Smith, spent several days last week with relatives in Anderson. Rev. J. C. Bailey filled his regular appointment at the Presbyterian church, Sunday morninig and evening. Prof. Walter Taylor, of Greer, was v nong f riends here last week. The many friends of Mrs. E. B. Richardson will regret to hear that she is again quite sick. Mrs. B. W. McWlhoter is vis iting her uncle, Major. Frank Bradley, at Easley, this week. J. F. Jennings has returned from a few days' trip to Atlantn. McDuffie Weams, of Dayton, Va., paid Li)erty a visit last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Brock, of Central, were in the city Tues dlay. Mfercer Crawford, of Gordon Institute, Barnesville, Ga., Ie turned home Sunday on account of sickness. Mrs. Sinnus, of Central, spent Sunday .with Mrs. C. E. Bush. O'Dell, and Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Parsons were in Greenville, Monday. Sunday afternoon, Miss Mary Newton and Walter Cantrell wore happily married at the Presbyterian manse, Rev. J. C. Bailey officiating. We extend to them our hearty congratula tions, wishing them a long and happy life. Mrs. J. J. Wakelin attended the reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gillespie last week, given in honor of their son, Rlev.
