enthusiastic renditions of
“Queen of Apology” and
“Painted by Numbers,”
and included classics like
“Living in America” and
“Hit Me.” The crowd
was set into a frenzy by
the rhythmic dancing and
sultry vocals of Ivarsson
amid whistles from the
male audience members.
The Sounds, it seemed,
were in their element,
doing what they do best.
“Touring in America
is fun because there is a
great audience who will
drive for hours to see a
show,” said Nilsson. “If
the room is half full, they
are always in the front.”
After more stage
divine, crowd interaction
and dancing by Ivarsson
and company, the band
dispersed as the amplifiers
rang out, seeming to call
the group back, on as
pleadingly as the crowd
was chanting. To loud
adulation ringing through
the dilapidated venue,
The Sounds returned for
an encore of “Ego” and
“Seven Days A Week” to
a crowd more pulsating
than ever.
“Playing live is what
we are all about. People
can tell the difference
between us and any other
band when they come to
our show,” Nilsson said.
As for the rest of the
tour, The Sounds look to
a promising second half
with more great times
and new friends ahead.
“I just hope there will
be a ton of fans, and we
are all going to have fun,”
Nilsson said. “Come up
and say ‘Hi,’ I’ll give you
a beer.”

hits the front-wall it may
bounce on only one side
wall. If it bounces off three
walls it doesn’t count.
As Vilas served, he aimed
between the center and the
bottom of the front-wall.
His swing was so quick
and low the ball ricocheted
back barely hovering above
the ground sending Kelley
diving for a return.
“Looking back one thing
I had to learn the hard way
is never look backwards,
always look forward,”
Kelley said. “As I was
following the ball, the ball
hit my face because if you
look back you risk getting
hit.”
Kelley served the
ball more gently than
his opponent, but his
technique ensured
correctness. However, his
serve allowed Vilas an easy
and more controlled return
that successfully bounced
back, but landed near the
serving-box. Kelley quickly
lobbed the ball against the
wall. Vilas, expecting a
power shot, waited near
the back and went charging
for the ball. He dashed for
it, then slid in a desperate
attempt to return the shot, .
but landed what is called
a “fly,” meaning it never
touched the front-wall.
Tea in Destruction
practiced by playing the
tradition two-round set,
with first to 15-points
winning a round. But
since both players won
one, the game continued
on to a third round for
determining a winner.
For both Vilas and
Kelley, playing each other
doesn’t interest them as
much as playing others
down at the courts.
“To win at racquetball,
you’ve got to be quick
and aggressive,” Vilas said.
“When it’s your turn take
advantage of the shot.
Most people can catch on
quick, you just need to be
able to see the ball.”

to be released this year but
was hit with a delay late last
month until the first part of
next year.
The process of installing
Windows XP on a Mac
begins by downloading Boot
Camp straight from Apple’s
Web site. For the installation
to work correctly, Apple
advises that the following
items be present for proper
installation: the latest
version of Mac OS X Tiger,
the latest firmware upgrade,
10 GB of free hard drive
space, an Intel-based Mac,
a blank recordable CD and
a copy of Windows XP with
Service Pack 2.
Installing Windows XP on
a Mac starts off by burning
Mac-specific Windows
drivers onto the blank
recordable CD. The program
then prompts the user to
specify how much space
the user wants to provide
to Windows XP, better
•v
known in the computer
world as partitioning. The
whole process of installing
Windows XP to a Mac
works on the concept
of partitioning and dual
booting. Partitioning a drive
is the process of setting aside
a set amount of hard drive
space to a specific program
or set of files.
Next is the process of
putting in the Windows
XP installation disc, and
following the instructions
for installing Windows
XP. After installation is
complete, the CD with
the Mac-specific Windows
drivers will be inserted and
the contents of the CD will
be installed. The installation
should be1 complete at this
-stage.
Apple wants users to be
very cautious when it comes
to installing Windows XP
on their Macs.
According to Apple’s Web
site, “Windows running
on a Mac is like Windows
running on a PC. That
means it’ll be subject to the
same attacks that plague the
Windows world. So be sure
to keep it updated with the
latest Microsoft Windows
security fixes.”
Performance has come
into question when it comes
to Boot Camp, as several
high-profile computing
sites have put fhe concept of
Windows on a Mac to the
test. The hacked versions of
Windows XP on Macs have
shown that the operating
system runs quite well. With
Boot Camp, performance has
also been on par with what
the hackers discovered.
Apple is hoping that Boot
Camp will give Windows
users another reason to
switch over to Mac. This,
along with the new Intel
based processors, is giving
Windows users more of a
reason to switch.
