turn to third party programs
like Musicmatch Jukebox,
Ephljod or XPlay to add
songs to their players. With
iTunes now available for
Windows users, the iTunes
Music Store became an even
bigger hit, and download
rates soared.
I he next rew versions
of iTunes brought several
important features to the
program. Clearly something
big was going down at
Apple, as version 4.8 added
video support. Was this a
sign from Apple that the
iPod would become a video
player as well? Version 4.9
finally brought support
for podcasting, which
had become an important
new feature for the
iPod. Podcasters became
overjoyed that iTunes could
now display their shows for
download. This version also
brought support to the new
Motorola ROKR phone.
The iTunes-enabled phone
allowed users to put MP3s
on their phones. While the
phone hasn’t become as
big of a hit as the iPod, it
has become an interesting
conversation piece.
ITunes version 6.0
brought something new to
the iTunes Music Store.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has
just finished announcing the
new Video iPod when he also
announced that the iTunes
Music Store would allow
downloads of television
shows and music videos.
While only a select few
shows and music videos were
available for download at
release, the video Store has
expanded greatly, adding
such popular shows like
“South Park,” “The Office”
and “Battlestar Galactica.”
Recently, rumors have been
sprouting up that the video
store will soon begin to sell
full-length feature films.
The next Apple press event
is scheduled for February
28.

Recipe of the Day
Bacon Asparagus Pizza
Provided by: www.allrecipes.com
What you need:
5 thick slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 unbaked pizza crust
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup chopped fresh asparagus
1 cup halved cherry or grape tomatoes
1(11 ounce) log fresh chevre (goat cheese)
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
freshly ground black pepper to taste
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Place bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook for a few minutes to release
most of the grease, but do not cook until crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain.
Spread the pizza crust out on a pizza pan or large baking sheet. Top with mozzarella
cheese, bacon pieces, asparagus and tomatoes. Dot with goat cheese, then season
with red pepper flakes and black pepper.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in preheated oven, until crust is golden brown
underneath when you lift it up to take a peek. Let cool for about 5 minutes before
slicing and serving.

The next step, cutting off
water intake and loading
carbs back into the body,
takes place the day before
a scheduled event. “Carb
loading” helps soak up
excess water in muscles,
making the athletes’
muscles look larger and
more defined.
For beginner
bodybuilders it is best to
practice posing in front
of a mirror and gradually
move away from it after
more posing experience
is obtained. This method
prevents athletes from
getting dependent on the
mirror. Posing is simple,
but it takes a lot of practice
and muscular endurance.
“The biggest guys can
go out there and lose to
smaller guys because the
smaller guys are able to
pose better,” Kelley said.
“Judges score based on
what they see. If you don’t
show them what you have,
you lose.”
Some athletes work out
every day, others only a few
times a week, depending
on their individual needs.
Bodybuilders work on
every muscle group, but
try to balance their bodies
at the same time. Since
every body is different,
some athletes might have
to work specific muscle
groups twice as hard to
catch up to the more
developed areas. Also,
changing workout routines
helps gain quality results
for muscular progression.
Heavy lifting helps one
get stronger, but higher
repetitions help develop
muscular endurance
and stamina needed for
competition. Bodybuilders
that want to gain muscle
mass make big changes
in their diet and subtle
changes in their workout
routine by alternating
between high repetitions
with low weight to low
repetitions with high
weight, until the desired
muscle mass is achieved.
