HOROSCOPES
ARIES Do the thing that looks, at
first, as if it will be most difficult.
You’ll find it brings rewards
beyond your wildest
imagination.
TAURUS Show your friends how
smart you are. There’s no need to
tell them. Let them figure it out.
They’ll be even more impressed.
GEMINI Heaven knows you’re
good with words, but what you
need now are numbers. Prove
you can do a lot more if you’re
given a little more, and you
might get it.
CANCER A rather contusing
interlude has a happy ending.
You’re admired for your
consistency and for settling
everyone down. Good work.
LEO Although it takes enormous
self-discipline, it’s still best to
stash your money away instead of
celebrating. Save the latter for
later.
VIRGO You don’t have to actually
do the job to stay in control of
the process. Be the brains behind
the operation. Let someone else
provide the labor.
LIBRA Do the work, send it in,
and then you can go out and
play. You know this rule by heart,
but now it’s more important than
ever.
SCORPIO Don’t offer expensive
toys or a trip to a fancy resort. If
it’s true love, your sweetheart
would much rather stay home
and pay off the bills.
SAGITTARIUS As ybu make
decisions, think about the
consequences. Don’t deplete your
savings. There’s another way to
solve the problem.
CAPRICORN oeek advice rrom an
expert during this phase. You’re
finding a lot of changes that need
to be made. Get help setting
priorities.
AQUARIUS Try not to be distracted
as you do what has to be done.
You’ll have plenty of time to play
with friends after the paycheck
clears.
PISCES Don’t be hasty, but do act
quickly. Follow your own
passion. If you like it, the odds
are good the people you admire
will, too.

THIS ISSUE:
South of the Border
By SHANATILL
THE MIX EDITOR
If you’ve ever driven along
Interstate 95 anywhere between
New Jersey and Florida, you’ve
seen the gaudy, neon yellow and
pink signs urging you to stop
South of the Border and visit the
mini-Mexico mecca. Located on
the North Carolina and South
Carolina border, South of the
Border (known as SOB to regulars)
offers endless opportunities for
low-cost fun. Upon entering the
amalgam of Old Mexico and
Dixie, you must drive though the
legs of Pedro — the mustached,
97-foot-tall mascot. From there,
you can eat a steak dinner inside a
building shaped like a sombrero,
ride the glass elevator to the top of
Sombrero Tower or even get
hitched in South of the Border’s
wedding chapel. For only $99, you
can get married, stay a night in the
honeymoon suite complete with
champagne and a waterbed, and
have free breakfast in the morning.
And so you won’t forget your trip
to the best little Mexico in the
South, you shouldn’t leave without
getting a souvenir from one of 14
gift shops filled with
backscratchers, coffee mugs and
shot glasses. And if that isn’t
exciting enough, you can buy a
keepsake from the fireworks stands
or the Dirty Old Man Shop.
