follow in the footsteps of Tina Louise’s
aloof, spoiled Ginger. She was taken
aback, though, by how some of her
castmates were desperate to play
characters.
“I’m really happy-go-lucky, and I find
it really hard to find something in
someone that I don’t like,” Hunter said.
“I’ll usually like you no matter what. But
there are people on this island that I just
f-can’t stand, that are just horrible,
frightening, just desperate-to-become
famous people.”
Hunter seems to have had particular
trouble with her Mary Ann.
“How can I put this?” Hunter said
haltingly, trying to avoid stirring up
trouble. “I always tried to be really nice to
Mary Ann. She ended up being pretty
evil.”
A poll on TBS’s Web site suggests that
nearly two-thirds of users would rather be
with Mary Ann than Ginger, but Hunter
— most recently an object of lust in the
Fountains of Wayne video “Stacey’s
Mom” — can only scoff, “I don’t think I
need to make a case. The case is closed.”
Perjiaps because of the tension with
some.of her cast mates, Hunter took the
game-show aspect of “The Real Gilligan’s
Island” very seriously.
“Competition is competition no
matter what,” she declared. “I don’t have
any of that pop psychology that America
has. To me, when you’re put up against
competition, you’re competitive no
matter what. I’m not going to sit back and
let somebody win.”

HOROSCOPES
ARIES Don’t make a big fuss about a
difficult situation at home. Stick to
the rules the family has set, and
everything works out fine.
TAURUS You re in the mood to study,
and you’re learning rapidly. Continue
toward mastery with concentration
and practice.
GEMINI The workload is heavy, the
pace is quick, but it ought to also be
fun. Make sure you’re being paid well
for your efforts, then show you know
your stuff.
CANCER It s easier to connect now
with the things closest to your heart.
Don’t be distracted by fancy talk.
Trust the tried and true.
LEO It’s cleanup time, in more ways
than one. Don’t start any new
projects now. The more old stuff you
get checked off your lists, the more
creative you will become.
VIRGO Meetings should go very well
today. People are in the mood to build
structures that will last for years. There
may be a bit of disagreement on
priorities, but you can work that out.
LIBRA More responsibility isn’t
usually something that you seek.
You’d just as soon let somebody else
make the rules and enforce them. Do
get involved just enough to make sure
they’re fair.
SCORPIO Expand your area of
influence with a scouting mission at
first.. Venture outside the boundaries
you’ve set to see what new dilemmas
await.
SAGITTARIUS All fantasy aside, how
are you going to pay for these
innovations? Someone you know well
and respect can give you some helpful
hints.
CAPRICORN You’re reminded of rules
and regulations, with which you have
to comply. You know it’s good to have
a routine, but you prefer the ones you
set. Be gracious and go along.
AQUARIUS You’re under pressure, and
that works well to focus your attention.
Use the routine you’ve already learned,
and maximize your output.
PISCES Others admire your creativity
and imagination. Add stability and
structure %o they’ll take you seriously.
Build something that will last for
years, and of which you can be proud.
