STREET The victim said she and
Cleasha Smith got into an argu
ment. Smith began yelling and
grabbed the victim by the throat,
leaving a small red mark on the
left side of the victim’s neck. The
victim refused medical attention.
Reporting officer J.M. Simmons
recorded her statement and pho
tographed her neck.
Thursday, July 22

SELL HOUSE BOOK STORE, 1400
GREENE STREET Reporting Officer
G. Kerwin arrived at the book
store after a finance book was re
ported stolen from a section of the
store roped off for carpet work. A
white man between the ages of 20
and 25 later tried to sell the stolen
book at Addams University
Bookstore. However, he left the
book on the counter and walked
out of the store after he couldn’t
produce sufficient ID. The book
was taken as evidence.

Denard saw Stacy Ann Hobgood
unsteady on her feet and slurring
her speech. He made contact with
her, and she told him, “I’m
drunk. ” Denard asked her for her
ID, and she gave him an S.C. ID be
longing to another woman older
than 21. Friends kept telling the
subject to show her real driver’s
license, which she eventually did.
Denard issued her two citations.

SUMTER STREET The complainant
said Anna Siek continues to bring
her dog, a boxer, into the building
despite repeated warnings that the
animal scares people. Reporting
officer A. Mitchell made contact
with Siek and told her to take the
dog out of the building.

COHOL, POSSESSION OF ANOTHER
I.D., WILLY’S BAR AND GRILL,
PARK AND LADY STREETS
Reporting Officer G. Kerwin ap
proached the subject, who was
holding a beer, while working
Alcohol Enforcement Detail. She
produced two different IDs, and
the one stating she was older than
21 was not hers. Kerwin issued her
citations.
Saturday, July 24
O DUI, DISREGARDING STOP
SIGN, USE OF ANOTHER DRIVER’S
LICENSE Reporting Officer J.
Harrelson pulled Chad Elliott over
after he saw Elliott run a stop sign
in his green Nissan Maxima.
When he approached the car,
Harrelson smelled alcohol, and he
asked Elliott to step outside.
Elliott stumbled out of the driver’s
seat and failed alphabet, count
down, walk-and-tum, and one-leg
stand tests. Harrelson arrested
him, and a subsequent search of
Elliott’s car turned up someone
else’s driver’s license under the
driver’s seat. Elliott’s car was
towed to City Garage.

The complainant said someone
somehow entered Gibbes Court
and stole: 11 bottles of Carment
white wine, 29 bottles of Rodney
Strong red wine, seven bottles of
Louis Latour white wine, seven
bottles of champagne, 22 bottles of
Stone Cellar wine, 11 cases of
Miller Lite Beer, eight cases of
Budweiser beer and six one-liter
bottles of wine. Total estimated
value: $1,302. Investigations are
ongoing.
