greasy grill, and how the bread
is baked in an open fire brick
oven. Saadeddin also keeps a gar
den where he grows the egg
plants, red peppers and tomatoes
he uses in the meals.
Inside, the restaurant was
filled with exotic directions.
Heavy red and brown rugs hung
from the ceiling. Mediterranean
rug-covered booths provided lots
of comfort and room. You could
lie down and eat if you wanted.
Elaborately decorated tea ket
tles and other exotic objects added
to the restaurant’s Mediterranean
atmosphere. Al-Amir is located
■ across from Za’s Pizza on Devine
Street. From my patio seat I
watched as people stood in line,
waiting to be seated, ordering pep
peroni pizza with cheese. By the
time they were seated I’d finished
my parsley salad with tomatoes
and shish tawouk (chicken).

HOROSCOPES
ARIES You’ll do better in love if
you’re kind and considerate.
Be more passive than usual,
and you’ll find out some very
interesting things.
TAURUS Encouragement from
your friends is a help, and it
could provide just what you
need. One of them could have
the answer you’ve been
seeking. Let them know what
you’re trying to do.
GEMINI Modifications on top
of the food chain affect your
income positively. You may be
able to make more money
without doing any more work.
CANCER Don’t worry about
finding just the right words.
You might get your message
across more effectively not
saying anything at all.
LEO Once you’ve set your
priorities, you can finally go
shopping! If you take the time
to search for the best deal, the
odds are good you’ll find it.
VIRGO A person with an
imaginative idea could make a
crazy request. Don’t turn it
down before you’ve talked
with your team. This could be
better than at first thought.
LIBRA Concentrate on serving
others. Don’t worry about
what you’ll get in return. The
payback will come later, in a
manner you may not expect.
SCORPIO A slight financial
shortage barely slows you
down. You’ve got plenty of love
and plenty of opportunities.
Besides, the money is on its
way. Be bold.
SAGITTARIUS The best
investments you can make
now are in your home and your
family. You may have known
that intuitively, and the time to
take action has come.
CAPRICORN You can be rather
grouchy, but even you have to
admit that there’s nothing to
match the awesome healing
power of love. Give and ye
shall receive.
AQUARIUS You’ll finally start
to be rewarded for your
diligent effort. And not a
moment too soon. Don’t spend
it all in one place.
PISCES The extra hours you’ve
been putting in don’t seem to
be generating the kind of
income you’d like to see. But
the goodwill you’re gaining is
awesome. Keep up the good
work.
