Transferring Taylor
holds no bitterness
(AP) — Sophomore guard
Greg Taylor says he’s transfer
ring from USC.
Taylor hasn’t decided what
school he might go to, but head
coach Dave Odom said he will
let the reserve leave as soon as
he asks.
Taylor says he’s not angry
with the Gamecocks and that
an illness and an injury hurt
his playing chances.
“I look at it as it’s out of my
hands to a certain extent, but
I’m not bitter at all,” Taylor
said. “I like Coach Odom a lot. I
just think it’ll be best for me in
the long run.”
Taylor suffered from
mononucleosis as a freshman
and averaged 1.3 points in 57
minutes in 12 games. An ankle
injury this season limited him
to nine points and 37 minutes
in 13 games.
Taylor’s decision to transfer
frees up a scholarship for
Odom, who had signed three
players in this year’s recruit
ing class but only had two
scholarships to give.
