Run, smuggle toward game’s mission
SMUGGLER'S RUN 2

THE GAMECOCK
The first Smuggler's Run was a
launch title for PlayStation 2. The
game didn’t get the best reviews
and was written off as an all right
game by a new developer. Well,
Smuggler's Run 2: Hostile
Territory is helping Angel
Studios and Rockstar Games
break through. The first
Smuggler’s Run was killed by
horrible repetition. The sequel
definitely is a “run” for your
money.
In the plot, you’ve been hired by
a top smuggler and his company.
The character is contracting
himself out to someone named
“The Colonel.” Your boss gives you'
assignments to pick up and deliver
packages. You also get assignments
to guard your fellow teammates
and even destroy other smugglers
and obtain their contraband. Don’t
think this is easy; the police are
very annoying, just like the sirens.
Smuggler’s Run 2 links
missions together, unlike the first
game. The storyline is incorpor
ated more by the addition of
occasional cinematic sequences. In
playing a character working for
an underground smuggling
organization, you dodge and
'smuggle your way through
landscapes like Russia and
Vietnam using.buggies, trucks and
other all-terrain vehicles.'
The physics engine has had
attention put into it. It’s very
impressive to see how easily your
vehicle becomes off-balanced while
driving fast over rough terrain. It
beats the other unrealistic games
where your car floats over the
terrain. You will feel every bump

Harrison’s family invites fans
to join in minute of meditation

LOS ANGELES — George Har
rison’s family thanked fans for
their affectionate tributes and
invited them to take part Mon
day in a minute of meditation
in tribute to the late Beatle.
“We are deeply touched by the
outpouririg of love and compas
sion from people around the
world.
“The profound beauty of the
moment of George’s passing —
of his awakening from this
dream — was no surprise to
those of us who knew how he
longed to be with God. In that
pursuit, he was relentless,” wife
Olivia Harrison and son Dhani
Harrison said.
The statement was released late
Saturday by family friend Gavin
de Becker. Harrison died'of can
cer Thursday in Los Angeles. He
was 58. A family funeral has al
ready been held; no details were
released.
Harrison’s widow and son
asked fans to join them for a
tribute.
“Olivia and Dhani invite you to
join them in a minute of medita
tion ih honor of George’s journey,
wherever you are on Monday at
1:30 p.m. PST (4:30 p.m. EST),” De
Becker said.
The intensely private and spir
itual Harrison was known as the
quiet Beatle.
