Che Gamecock Sunday, July 8 ■ Larceny of cell phone, Preston Hall, room 335. Adam Ness said a Verizon cell phone and charger, a pocket camera and three rolls of quarters were taken from his secured room during a camp function. Total estimated value: $240. Reporting officer: L. Forte. Saturday, July 7 ■ Vehicle fire, Carolina Coliseunf Lee Adams said his vehicle began smoking when he started it. The Columbia Fire Department responded and found no signs of a fire. Reporting officer: L. Forte. Thursday, July 5 ■Auto break-in, larceny of stereo equipment, grand larceny of CDs. Students Ronn Jon-Finn, Jason Capers, Larry Walker, Kathryn Rosinski and Stephen Walker said someone removed stereo equipment and other miscellaneous items from their vehicles. Total estimated value: $1,355. Reporting officer: C. Ettenger. ■ Larceny of books, Graduate Science Building. Faculty member Wilson Kistler said someone removed three textbooks from his unsecured office, with a total value of $90. Reporting officer: E. Pereira. ■ Recovered property, 300 Sumter St. Thomas Green said he found the wallet of Ali Qasem while cleaning up trash under the pedestrian walkway. Reporting officer Pereira was unsuccessful in attempts to contact Qasem. Officer Pereira was advised by the Columbia Police Department that the property might have been related to a previous mugging involving Qasem near Cornell Arms. Columbia Police Department took possession of the property as possible evidence. Wednesday, July 4 ■ Disorderly conduct, trespassing after notice, McMaster College. Officer Forte noticed Alfred Imler loitering in the grass on USC property. Officer Forte also noticed that Imler smelled of alcohol. Imler said he had been drinking, and upon subsequent checks, it was discovered that Imler had been previously warned off of USC property and told he would face arrest if he returned. Imler was arrested and transported to the Richland County Detention Center. Tuesday, July 3 ■ Larceny of bicycle, Woodrow. Student James Reese said someone removed his secured orange “Gary Fisher” mountain bike with an estimated value of $300. Reporting officer: N. Beza. ■ Civil dispute, Humanities Classroom Building. Custodial supervisor Annette Folks called USC police because she was having trouble getting custodial worker Carol Goodwin to leave the property after she was told she needed a doctor’s note to return to work. Goodwin was asked by Officer J. Coaxum to leave the property and to return with a doctor’s note. Goodwin was cooperative and left the property. Officer Coaxum was told this wasn’t the first incident between the individuals at work. Monday, July 2 ■ Malicious injury to personal property, 300 Bull St. Student Tremayne Waller said someone used a brick to break out the back passenger’s window of his vehicle, causing an estimated $150 in damage. The brick was placed into evidence and dusted for fingerprints. Reporting officer: C. Ettenger. Sunday, July 1 ■Trespass after notice, 1000 Bull St. Charles Stripling was found behind the Columbia Museum of Art without any clothes on. Stripling had been warned off the property previously on March 24. Reporting officer: J. Rosier. Friday, June 29 ■ Information report, Medical Park. Laura Irwin said several mockingbirds have been attacking people as they enter and leave the building. Irwin said the situation has gotten worse over the past months. Officer K.
