artwork is created by local artists.
Make sure to stop by the 80808 ;uid Meteor gal
leries, as well.
Up just a couple of blocks front the Vista is the
beautiful Richland County Library. A newer alter
native to USC’s Thomas Cooper Library, Richland
County Library is a good place to go to browse through
an overwhelming collection of books or music, or
to do some research while looking out the window
at the Columbia skyline.
In the next couple of years, USC’s cam
pus will be growing into the Vista area. A 19.000
seat arena is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2002
at College mid Lincoln streets.
The arena, to be South Carolina's largest, will
be the new home to USC Biisketball and Columbia’s
own professional hockey team.
USC’s Facilities Master Plan for campus de
velopment calls for the campus to grow westward
to the Congaree River in the coming years.
The Congaree Vista has been Columbia’s growth
hot spot in the past few years, and USC students can
look forward to a bright future for this area of town.
