Gamecock Sports___ Gamecocks from page 10 try, the road doesn’t get any easier. The Gamecocks have a week to prepare for their next opponent, Mississippi State. After that match, the first of four straight at Frank McGuire Arena, USC faces Alabama, LSU, Georgia and then games at Florida and Vanderbilt to close out the season. This might sound like an easy schedule, but it might be harder than the previous 10 games. Alabama fea tures junior college transfer Schea Cot ton, one of the most productive new comers in the SEC, while LSU has the league’s second leading scorer, fresh man Stromile Swift. i After a slow start, Georgia has start ed to give the top teams fits, while Florida and the Commodores are both headed to the NCAA Tournament. Saying the Gamecocks may not make the postseason this season is a strong contender for understatement of the year. However, the Gamecocks might see the return of point guard Aaron Lucas to help them in their quest. Lu cas is making a strong recovery and could be ready for the Mississippi State game. With or without Lucas, the Gamec cks will have to put together an ex tensive run if they want to extend the career of senior Herbert Lee Davis and their own season. i soutn Carolina »-m, l-ti stc TOT-FG 3-PT REBOUNDS No. 00 David Ross, f 4 63 4 0 022 4 5 11- 1 0 0 1 21 35 Antonio Grant, 1 3 '4 0 10 010 1461200 23 12 Marius Petravicius, c 3 70 03 400 0291000 18 14 Herbert Lee Davis, g 2 12 2 52 402 2282001 27 31Chuck Eidson, g 4 11 0 12 315 62 10 5312 36 10 Jamel Bradley 4 94 93 405 53 15 4000 25 15 Travis Kraft 2 62 60 000 0162000 18 32 Calvin Clemmons 0 10' 00 000 0000100 2 33 Damien Kinloch 0 10 01 251 6210001 13 50 Tony Kitchings 4 5 0 01 225 7390400 17 Team 2 2 4 Totals 26 62 11 26 12 19 13 22 35 24 7517 11 1 5 200 Ole Miss 15-7, 3-6 SEC No. FG FGA FG FGA FT FTA OF DE TOT PE TP A TO B S MIN 24 Marcus Hicks, £ 7 12 0 1 4-6 0 7 7 2 18 4 2 1 1 31 25 Lataryl Williams, f 0 50 10 025 7102100 16 44 Rahim Lockhart, g 8 90 02 345 93 18 0121 33 22 Jason Flanigan, g 3 71 24 723 51 11 9001 34 32 Emmanuel Wade, g 2 51 20 005 5151210 25 11 Jason Harrison 3 62 36 600 04 14 3402 23 20 Jason Holmes 0 20,11 201 1010000 6 21 Darrian Brown 4 63 53 421 33 14 0101 20 23 Syniker Taylor 0 0 0 00 000 0100000 3 54 John Engstront 1 10 00 000 0320100 9 Team 0 0 0 Totals 28 53 7 15 20 28 10 27 37 19 8318 12 4 6 200 Sean ravford Gamecock Sports USC’s Tony Kitchings and Damien Kinloch crowd Clemson’s Tomas Nagys in the Tigers’ 61-58 win Dec. 15. I Wallace from page 10 What Warner said was much more shocking. He said, “I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Excuse me? Can you say that in this day and age? Of course you can. And why not? In this country today, you can say about anything else. I can write a whole sentence filled with profanity if I want. But Warner gave cred it where he felt credit was due. He gave it all to God Warner’s outlook on life is that with God on his side, he is always happy, namat ter what happens. How many of us can find this kind of meaning in life and assured hap piness? Warner can. And he does deserve it, although he’ll never admit it. I just hope that people can find a happiness like Miner's. He is proof that fame and accolades won’t make you content and that life plays by no rules and anything can happen. Sadly, Derrick Thomas is a reminder that within the Wink of an eye, something can be taken away. Kurt Mmer does not fear that His life is complete.
