You Eurotrash think that’s funny?
You guys think that our country sucks
so badly, yet you come here to study,
make money and play our sports. This
country bailed most of you cretins out
in two World Wars, yet you people (es
pecially the Frogs) have such an air
about you. Well it reeks, so go home.
Even though I am a Florida State
fan, Sebastian Janikowski is an idiot.
The Polish jokes have to be true, for
he has a lot of power in his leg but noth
ing between his ears.
Okay, laugh it up, Hideki Irabu.
You were a waste of a draft pick from
a country that stole our national pas
time, but I have no problems with you.
In fact, my grandfather was once in Hi
roshima and Nagasaki, if only for five
seconds apiece.
ney bola memoer, go 10 me
ladies’ room, okay. What has your
entire group, male or female (or the
other way around) done for sports, oth
er than contaminate the LPGA and de
stroy Aussie Rules football? Sports has
no room for a version of “The Bird
cage.”
Now that I have conceivably of
fended nearly every group in human
ity, do you get my point? I do not be
lieve in anything I just said here, but
I said them for one reason — BE
CAUSE I CAN.
The First Amendment gives me the
right to say these things.
Or does it?
Just because I have the right to say
what I just said, does it make them
right? This is African-American His
tory Month, and we as African-Amer
«
icans (and every other group) should
take a good look at ourselves.
What John Rocker said was noth
ing more than the inane ramblings of
a typical piece of ignorant Southern
white trash. The First Amendment does
not protect him in the private sector,
and I agree with Bud Selig’s decision
to suspend Rocker until May 1.
If I were-Selig, I would give Rock
er another month for having the tes
ticular fortitude to appeal the suspen
sion. In my opinion, the people who
support John Rocker only support him
because he didn’t disrespect them.
What about the Cockpit and its
chants of “al-co-hol-ic” toward for
mer USC head basketball coach and
current Kentucky assistant George Fel
ton? Does the First Amendment give
this group of “fans” the right to make
fun of a person because he has a dis
ease?
Yes, that’s right. Alcoholism is a
disease. We were taught as children not
to pick on people who had cerebral

makes this any different?
Human beings need to learn com
mon sense when expressing themselves.
We must not hide behind the First
Amendment every time we say some
thing stupid or racist. We must learn
to face our own consequences. We must
learn from the Supreme Court case
Skokie vs. Illinois that some speech
can pose a threat.
Do I believe these atrocities I’ve
written? No. '■
Do I have the right to say them?
Yes.
Does the fact I have the right to say
them justify it? No. Just because we
have the right to say something does
n’t mean we shouldn’t keep our mouths
shut sometimes.
I think I’ve made my point.

Sports Roundup

In last Saturday’s South Carolina
game at Kentucky, freshman guard
Chuck Eidson had his best contest since
taking over duties as starting point
guard.
The 6-foot-7 Summerville native,
had 13 points, seven assists, three steals
and three rebounds, coming close to
his second double-double of the sea
son.
Eidson, is averaging 10.0 points,
3.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game. He
ranks in the top five among SEC fresh
men in six different league statistical
categories and is the overall league
leader in steals.
Eidson, who is now fourth in
SEC games with 4.4 assists per game
after 14 in his last two games, is just
five steals away from setting the
USC single-season record (currently
73 by Barry Manning).
At his current pace, he would break
the SEC single-season average record
and would finish with the second-high
est steals total in the 68-year history
of the league. Here’s what coaches of
USC’s opponents have to say about Ei
dson, most notably Kentucky coach
Tubby Smith, who’s seen the talented
frosh twice this season:
“In Chuck Eidson, they (South Car
olina) have a kid who can really take
care of the basketball. He has long arms
and great anticipation. He’s as good as
any freshman in the league, and you
keep using the word poise, but he has
the poise of a veteran player. Chuck’s
leadership is coming to the forefront
now that he’s playing the point.
“Chuck Edson has a great shot at be
ing Freshman of the Year. He’s got a
golden opportunity.”
USC Coach Eddie Fogler:
“Chuck Eidson is one heck of a
player. Player. Here’s a quote for you:
‘The better players Chuck Edson plays
with, the better they are. Think of what
I just said. That tells you what kind of
a player Chuck Eidson is.’”
“Our team has not been on televi
sion much, and because our team has
lost close games, I don’t think people
know how good Chuck Eidson is. We
go to play Tennessee and the Fox Sport
sNet people said, ‘I didn’t realize
this Ed was putting up the numbers
he’s putting up.’
“If there is a better freshman around
than Chuck Edson, I want to see him.”
Auburn Coach Cliff Ellis:
“South Carolina answered the bell
(on the 16-point comeback in the 2nd
half). I can’t say enough about the
Chuck Eidson kid. He just made
tremendous shots. Most of them were
contested, and he made big plays. What
a performance by a freshman.”
