washed costs you, as does postal
service.
We've all heard the expression,
"There's no such thing as a
free lunch," but with the sheer
amount of commercial and
even personal investment in the
Internet, an awful lot of lunches
are going around. Most consumers
simply assume, "Internet.
I have to pay forthator,

these assumptions, Internet use
isn't very costly, but consumers
often don't see the freely available
resources waiting to be exploited.
For example, NetZero
(http://www.netzero.com) offers
absolutely free software and dial-up
access to the Internet All

advertising investments; advertising
money pays for it entirely.
For those lucky few of you
who have TV cards in your computers,
Wavetop (http^/www.
wavetop.net) offers free software
that gives the consumer access
to limited Internet use over his
or her cable line. This free service
allows you to acquire news
and other information from the
Internet without tying up your
phone line.
And unlike its slower or
"snaiT-like namesake, mail service
on the Internet is freely given
out. Just visit http://www.eudoramail.com
or others such as
http://www.excite.com. The web
offers literally dozens, even hundreds,
of free e-mail services to
any person.
It is obvious that a lot of the
principles we operate under in
our lives don't quite apply
when on the Internet When a
service is reduced to the traffic
of the electron, it becomes much
less costly than we are accustomed
to. Consumers should really
look at what Internet services
they are paying for and ask
themselves, "Is this available for
free?" r
Far too much investment is
splashing around in that sea for
a wise consumer to ignore.

more daring cuisine, Motor Supply
often does specialty dinners. Recently,

Motor Supply's service is proippt '
and professional. In a larger city,
this restaurant could charge several
times what it does in Columbia.
Motor Supply always has been a famous
"date restaurant," and it's *
great for special occasions. Prices
can be high at times, so it's easy to
drop a wad of money before you
know it. Sunday brunch also is popular,
but arrive before or after the
customary after-church rush.
Motor Supply, without a doubt
one of Columbia's finest restaurants,
serves both lunch and dinner.
Key to pricing guides:

$$ = $ll-$20
$$$ = $21 - $30
$$$$ = over $31
