fans with class on the first base side can't stand any of you, and
that's double for every baseball player i've ever talked to. and i've
talked to about 20 or so through the years, you're an embarrassment
to gamecock athletics, i want you guys to go to the games but
please show some form of respect for others around you.
First of all, learn how to spell and capitalize, please. You've
just e-m-b-a-r-r-a-s-s-e-d yourself as well as anyone who attends
or ever has attended USC. Second, as the home team, we have
an advantage.
It's our job as fans to use that advantage to make a visiting
team's stay at Sarge Frye Field a very uncomfortable one, laying
more beatdowns than in a Greene Street apartment while doing
so.
Third, if you guys out there in the "Morgue" have class, then
I would much rather be a classless heckler. At least we Hecklers
openly show that we care about and support USC baseball and
have done so for nearly three decades. You people down the firstbase
line don't heckle. Hell, you barely even cheer for our team, so
maybe it's your loyalty that should be questioned, not ours.
This point leads me to my final point about this sorry excuse

spoken to, but I've had lunch with several over the years, many of
whom were drafted by major-league franchises, who previously
didn't know who I was before I became a Heckler.
These players appreciate what we do because they know that
we're on the same team. Why would you hate anyone who gives
your team a boost, causes wild pitches and cheers more loudly than
anyone else in the ballpark? Finally, this goes out to anyone who
likes us or hates the Hecklers. Anyone can become one. All you
have to do is sit in our section, grab a cone and bring your best,
original, clean heckles.
The hasehall team needs to know it has fan suDnort this vear
and that's why we come to the games.
For those who think we're rude and mean to the opposing team's
players, get a life. If those players can't handle the heckling at this
level, try Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium or Shea Stadium, where
nothing is out of bounds, and see how long they last.
I've been to those stadiums and heard things I wouldn't dream
of saying to a sorority girl, much less the other team's players.
We are no different from the Cockpit or the Ballheads, yet we
seem to get ripped on more by other fans as well as the administration.
Most of the Hecklers are alumni who still have the spirit
to come to the ballgames and cheer loudly for USC baseball.
Instead of being persecuted, these men and women should be
recognized for their loyalty, because they are what real fans are
supposed to be.

When it comes to experience, Jerome Jou
don is your man. The junior has been playii
tennis since the age of 7 and is beginning h
third year as a top contender on the USC mer
tennis team.
After learning the sport from his fathe
Jourdon has played tennis in Africa, Euroj
and the United States. This kind of experien
helps make him one of the best players in tl
nation.
As a freshman, he began the season m
ranked and finished as the No. 23-ranked pla
er in the nation, with a 25-9 record.
During his second year at USC he defea
ed the No. 1-, No. 4-, and No. 12-ranked pla
ers in the country that season and finished tl
year ranked No. 30 nationally. Jourdon w;
starting to make his mark.
And he wasn't just helping the Gamecocl
with his singles play.
