witnessing
Hallofest '98 last weekend in West Columbia.
It seems that I didn't learn my
lesson from USCW Spring Bash, so I
was asking to get the crap kicked out
of me again.
Hie show began with Darkside beating
up one of the announcers then exclaiming
that "Justus" will be served.
Afterward, an unnamed wrestler we all
love to hate stepped into the ring,
took the show hostage and demanded
that he get a world-title match against
Big Daddy Smooth, who won the belt
after Rage forfeited the title last month.
After that, Simply Amazing invaded
the show, and in an expletive
filled interview he asked, "Where is the
DZW when you need them?"
After the crowd started chanting
the names of some of those wrestlers,
Simply then said, Tunny their a- ain't
here. Wonder why? Because I made
them, and they mean nothing to no one."
He then went on to say that "New Dimension
Wrestling is number one and
for those a~holes who disagree, they
can ... nah. I got two words that I feel
are better... F?You."
Oh yeah, there was some wrestling
in this event. After Simply Amazing defeated
Bo Wrangler in California to win
back his Intercontinental Title, he fought
Darkside, now known as Justus.
Before that match, however, Simply,
who was loaded with all sorts of
tricks, brought out his latest - Onyx,
his new valet. I almost missed the beginning
of this match because I was too
busy drooling over her.
In one of the most violent battles
since Clinton's imDeachment inauirv.
this match put last year's Simply vs.
Bo Wrangler match to shame. After exchanging
chair shots, Justus shocked
the audience with a version of Bret
Harfs "Sharpshooter," but Simply broke
the hold, greeted Justus with a chair
and finished him with the "Amazing
Drop."
After pinning Justus, he then hit
him with the "Amazing Grace" for good
measure. This match left both wrestlers
bloody, and even though Simply won
the match, he was transported to a local
hospital for a broken rib and apparent
internal bleeding.
Match two featured the Mystery
Wrestler and Big Daddy Smooth.
Smooth won the match in two out of
three falls, but his power attack was
nearly neutralized by the speed and
martial arts knowledge of the man who
shall remain nameless.
Matches three and four featured the
men from the EWF, based in Myrtle

to a battle royal where everyone got involved.
Jimmie the Wire, the EWF
champ, took the USCW belt and fled
the scene but was caught at the Art Bar,
where?he was mercilessly beaten and
Smooth got his belt back.
For the second half of this diatribe,
I needed some help, for I don't know
everything, even though I profess to
week after week. So I brought out an
old friend, Jamie Sanderson, to assist
me on some insider info for this week.
Jesse "The Body" Ventura has
made up considerable ground on the
leaders in the Minnesota gubernatorial
race. The former WWF wrestler and
Reform Party candidate has turned this
race into a dead heat by grabbing 21
percent of voters in a recent poll.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be a
guest presenter at the Billboard Music

Also, word is that he may be featured
in People Magazine.
Many of you may have heard on the
WCW Hotline that Triple H was rumored

100 percent false and the WWF is
currently negotiating a contract extension.
This will include a pay raise
and a push to main event status.
The Rock has just signed a new 6year
contract with the WWF at about
the $4 million mark. This will keep the

FLORENCE, S.C. ? It may be hard
to believe, but former South Carolina
football star Randy Wheeler says he
can't wait to see the Gamecocks take
on No. 3 Tennessee this Saturday.
The Miami Dolphins lineman, par
alyzed in a July car crash, has only
seen South Carolina in action once
this season.
"But from what I hear, I don't want
to see them play," he joked Wednesday
after being reunited with about a
dozen relatives and friends in the cafeteria
at HealthSouth Rehabilitation
Hospital.

with the Sanford Independence Bowl
this Wednesday afternoon, the Southeastern
Conference could now send
up to seven teams to bowl games this
season, contingent of course on the assumption
the conference will be able
to produce seven bowl-eligible teams

With this new accord (which guarantees
a $1 million payout each year),
the SEC now enjoys post-season agreements
with the Citrus, Outback, Cotton,
