Y2K Fix must look through the thousands
of lines of code in USC's mainframe
and change the date fields from
two digits to four.
"We're trying all sortf of ideas to
get ready for 2000," Yarbrough said.
"We're changing the year date to include
four digits.
"We're using something known as
a sliding window that simply sticks a
19 onto a date, as well as three or four
other tricks of the trade.

"South Carolina is about 54 percent
Y2K-compliant, and the federal

Computer Services plans to send

this project is that we got a chance to

like online registration and fee payment,"
Yarbrough said.
According to Yarbrough, about 53
percent of class registration last year
was done online.
Online fee payment should be available
this spring.
