These brand names bring students some comfort, as they know they'll get a consistent, quality product. But as the food has gotten better, the service remains the same: horribly inconsistent. With their myriad of food outlets on this campus, Marriott has some huge quality control problems. At supposed "fast food" outlets, students sometimes wait up to 25 minutes before they get their food. Employees seem to be indifferent about their jobs and serving their customers. Marriott has a large problem in how they are managing their food services to this university. They are not doing their jobs when it comes to giving students what they deserve. I'm your friendly neighborhood editorial writer, here to give the dos and don'ts of edi torial page KIKI McCORMICK vja several columnist letters to the editor, that some of you out there are confused about the basic goings-on up here, so I'll use those assumptions as jumpingoff points. Perhaps the most worrying display of cluelessness was found in a letter by some law student attempting to defend, the antics of a video poker machine magnate. His first sentence stated: "An editorial is defined as an 'editor's opinion. In case you ever wonder who those people are, our names are listed for your perusal over our editorials. All Presidents All right, would somebody please hand me a saw-off shotgun so I can kill myself. ? Viewpoints Editor Rob Gioielli, Assistant V.P. Editor Kurt Johnson and I write the majority, with occasional offerings from Jennifer and Managing Editor Sara Ladenheim. We write more not because Sara and Jennifer don't agree with us, but because they have duties on pages other than Viewpoints. So what do we do when we have a burning desire to say something with which the rest of the editorial board doesn't agree? Glad you asked. Thaf s what columns are for. Columns are? well, this is a column. It is written less formally, and (hopefully) displays more il scandal g< called for.
