South Carolina center Ryan Stack said
ever since he was a little kid, he has always
dreamed of being Michael Jordan or playing
against him and other NBA greats.
After being selected by the Cleveland
Cavaliers in the second round of the 1998
NBA Draft oft June 24. the ChaDmansboro.
Tenn., native will have the chance.
"This is just a dream come true," Stack
said via phone from his house in Tennessee.
"This is all very exciting."
Stack was projected by analysts to be
a late second-round pick or even a free
agent, but his stock rose last week after

had been in Cleveland twice and both workouts
went real well."
After sitting through three hours of the
NBA draft, the Cavaliers selected Stack
with 19th pick in the second round, the
48th pick overall.
"With the 19th pick in the second round,"
NBA executive Rod Thorn said, "the Cleveland
Cavaliers select Ryan Stack, South
Carolina."
"As soon as he said 'Ryan' I jumped
up and said 'that's me,"' Stack said, who
watched the draft from his girlfriend's house
