while on patrol, observed subject
to be unsteady on his feet while

his breath. Subject was arrested and
transported to Richland County
Detention Center.
Contributing to Delinquency of
a Minor, Woodrow Hall. Complainant
stated that victim was caught sneaking
out of a room in Preston dorm
and going to above location where
she had been given alcoholic beverages
for consumption. Investigation
continues.
DUI, Blossom and Sumter streets.
While on routine patrol, responding
officer observed subject traveling at
a high rate of speed and weaving in
the road. Officer made a traffic stop
at above location and gave an alphabet
test. The respondent began
with the letter E and ended with the
letter S. The officer also gave two other
tests. Suspect failed two of the three

Activity fee to
TUITION continued from page one
The Student Senate supported the
activity fee increase that would provide
$3 extra per student to Student
Media each semester. Before passing
a resolution favoring the increase, senators
expressed concern about the use
of the extra funds.
Then-editor Adam Snyder said the
extra money would be used to improve
the quality ofWUSC-FM.The Garnet
& Black magazine and The Gamecock.
Snyder said the top priority of all three
organizations is to replace broken and
out-of-date equipment.

Plaza. Subsequent investigation
proved that subject had been
warned several times not to return
to USC property. Subject was arrested
and transported to Richland County
Detention Center.

officer observed subject driving
in a very erratic manner. The officer
pulled the vehicle over. As subject
exited the vehicle, responding officer
observed the subject to be very unsteady
on his feet. Upon approaching
the subject the officer noticed a
strong odor of alcoholic beverage about
his person. Subject failed several sobriety
tests and then was placed under
arrest and transported to Richland
County Detention Center.

Property, the Pit, S-8 Lot. Responding
officer was met by complainant
who said an unknown persons)

the rear bumper and left rear side
panel of her '95 Nissan. Preliminary
investigation revealed large scratches
and white paint streaks upon com

Harvey, The Gamecock's summer editor.

student media programs, mostly due

The Wellness Center is in the beginning
planning stages, but will be
a state-of-the-art facility strictly for
