Hytner.
George Hanson (Rudd) moves in with Nina Borowski
(Aniston) after being dumped by his boyfriend. In
the months that follow, Nina and George form a
friendship, which is disturbing to Nina's annoying
civil liberties lawyer boyfriend, Vince. What disturbs
him even more is when she announces that she's
pregnant and wants to raise her child with
George. Conflicts start when George can't return
the kind of love Nina feels for him.

Fm getting a little tired of seeing movies where
the main characters get their hearts broken. "My
Best Friends Wedding", "Titanic", "City of Angels",
and now, "The Object of My Affection". It's the
typical story: girl meets boy, boy moves in, girl
falls in love with boy, girl gets pregnant, boy is actually
gay, and nothing is going to change that. The

titude toward the interactions between the characters.
That very charm is also its curse.

It's always nice to see a movie that's still entertaining
despite its annoyances and flaws. Nina, who
reminds me of Aniston's "Friends" character, falls
in love with "Clueless" cutie Paul Rudd, who plays
George. While we expect "Object" to either conform
to typical gay stereotypes or change the gay character
with the "right" woman, "Object doesn't do
either.
Aniston and Rudd have a charming on-screen
chemistry and portray a friendship we would all like
to have. George and his lover, Paul, lack the chemistry
that makes Nina and George a believable re'Grace'

It's easy to see how Jennifer Aniston's character f
in "Object of My Affection" falls for the endearing (
grade-school teacher played by Paul Rudd. As soon (
as he moves into her apartment after a failed rela- *
tionship, they become the best of friends. What woman
wouldn't love a man who shared late-night hones, ?
talks and ice cream, loved going to weekly ballroom j
dancing lessons with her, was smart, kind, charm- (

While she seems to respect this fact when she

this), as they become closer she begins to wonder: is
he really gay? If I showed him how good I could be, could

he can love Aniston's character, but not the way she j
