WOW!
That's about all I can say to the
fans, and more importantly the students
of the University of South Carolina,
on your performance at "Midnight

I was at the event, and I was impressed
as you made the Frank McGuire
Arena rock with enthusiasm for our defending
SEC- champion Gamecocks.

early and be loud, and that is what you
did. Less than a minute after the doors
opened shortly before 10 p.m., the arena
was already filling up, and you guys
were getting loud.
mL A whole group of students wore
basketballs on their heads, several people
painted their bodies garnet and
black, and there were lots of signs for
the ESPN cameras.
But the most important thing in
the arena was the people. All 9,500-plus
of you were loud and crazy from beginning
to end.
And if you think it looked good inside
the arena in person, you should
have seen it on television. After the
