And, Parker said, thefts like
these are becoming all the more common
near the stadium.
There's no argument that it's
tough to secure a facility as large as
Williams-Brice Stadium. The stadium
is located far away from campus,
and it isn't in the safest area of

However, that does not mean
USC can't protect its property. After
all, what makes Williams-Brice

bsolutely no place in the school newspaper.
I understand that this is Winerson's
opinion, and he is entitled to express
it. But before sounding off about
ur football team, he needs to under
tand that the last place that criticism
ke this should come from is the student
ody or any member of the Carolina famy.
We, as students, should support our
thletic teams in victory as well as in de;at.
I know that the loss at Georgia was
isappointing, but Winterson needs to
emember that one game does not make
season. Our football team has nine
ames left this fall. To be so overly crit:al
and hasty in judgment of our footall
team only reflects Winterson's igorance
concerning this situation. I am
ure that Winterson is more than quailed
to make these comments about our
xjtball team's performance. I can only
ssume Winterson has a number of years
xperience playing Division I football
nd knows what it's like to play in the
outheastern Conference.
