Senate okays
Judicial Board,
fills open seats

The student Senate approved the
Judicial Board and 13 of the remaining
Cabinet seats at the final Senate meeting
of the school year Wednesday.
The Cabinet positions of Director of
Parking and Director of Graduate Affairs

The Senate also approved two new
senators. Brian Naylor will represent
the School of Puhlic Health. Deana Smith
will represent the College of Education.
In other business, the Senate passed
SBL(97)009, a resolution officially
reprimanding NAACP president Gretchen
Durrah for comments made at a press
conference. The resolution had been
w passed by last term's senate but then"
Vice-president Jamel Franklin refused
to sign it After the meeting it was realized
that the Senate did not have to vote again
because it is not necessary for the vicepresident
to sign a resolution.
"There was miscommunication
between the president and the Rules
Committee on an issue," Sen. Gene Willis
said after the meeting.
Sen. Curtis Brown announced the
Finance Committee has rewritten
SBL(97)007, the finance bill, so allocated
money and percentages match up.
The Senate also passed SBL(97)012,
a resolution allowing the formation of
Student Government intramural teams.

Saturday, and registration begins at 8:30
a.m. in the Arsenal Hill Building on
Laurel and Lincoln Streets. Registration
closes 30 minutes before each race. There
are six races beginning at 10 ami., 10:40
a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:45 a.m., 2 p.m. and
4:15 p.m.
The Century Tour is a 100-mile ride

Road Recreation Center. It will take
place Sunday. Registration is from 7 am

The Gamecock basketball team was

homerun in the game. Derrick Urquhart
tied the school records for doubles in a
game (3), and runs scored in a game (6).
Adam Everett also scored 6 runs.
Ryan Szwejbka had a career-high 7
RBI; Urquhart and Rob Streicher had
five each. Urquhart had five hits, Streicher
had four. Thirty-eight runs is the most
runs scored by a Gamecock team in
history, and also the most ever given up
by a Clemson baseball team. The
Gamecocks exploded for seven homeruns,
including two by Brandon Walters.
Streicher and Eric Stanton both homered

"Everybody's a little bit shocked, even
the freshmen, who don't really know
what it's all about yet," Szwejbka said
of the game. "It was the most fun I ever
had."
The amazing game showed the
limitations of the baseball team's
scoreboard, which was lit up like a firat
guy at a kegger.
The scoreboard was unable to show
the number 12 for runs scored in the
fifth, and the totals reset at the number
20.
The Gamecocks nearly flipped the
run totals twice. When a few fens spotted
