Non-Payment of Rent
The law says you can be evicted
if you do not pay rent on time.
The landlord/manager must send
you a letter after you are five days
late with the rent. The letter must
state you are late with the rent and
therefore must pay.
The landlord can ask the Magistrate
Court to evict you.
The sheriff must give you a "Rule
to Show Cause." The sheriff cannot
leave the "Rule to Show Cause" on
your door. You will have 10 days tc
immediately answer the magistrate.
