behind the strong shooting of White
and Williams, who ignited the Lady
Gamecocks on a 15-4 run to start
the second half.
They did not stop there as
Shanta Jeffcoat added six quick
points and the Lady Gamecock lead
ballooned to 16 with just over eight
minutes left in the game.
"I was very pleased that Shanta
Jeffcoat was able to go in for four
or five minutes and play
exceptionally well," Wilson said.
The Lady Wildcats roared back
to get the game within four points
with a minute left but Audrey
Ramsey and Annie Lester hit four
big free throws in the waning
seconds of the game to secure the
lead and preserved a 68-59 win for
the Lady Gamecocks, who improved
to 10-8 overall and 1-5 in SEC play.

different things to try and keep
other teams from coming back when
we are up on them."
The Lady Gamecocks had a good
game on defense and on the boards
but they still turned the ball over
to the Lady Wildcats 26 times in
the game.
Up next for the Lady Gamecocks
is the No. 7 Lady Georgia Bulldogs.
They lost Ail-American guard
Saudia Roundtree, but still have
strong inside play from their post
players.
They also like to press and will
try to keep Miars and Williams
from bringing the ball up the court.
"This win will be a big boost for
this team," Wilson said. "But we
turn right around and play Georgia
on Saturday, so goes life in the SEC,
where each game you turn around
and have to play another talented

The game will be played at 1
p.m. at the Frank McGuire Arena.
