graphics for the Fantasy Racing site. Ifs
Thursday now, I have to have the initial
site up and ready for scrutiny by next
Wednesday. No problem - except for the
two term papers and a German exit exam
between now and thai This is the crunch
time - when three months' worth of
procrastination catches up to everyone.

the Rockafellas site. Somehow when
you're working on a big paper you always
think up other, more interesting stuff
to do. I decided to make a database for
the Rockafellas calendar so that it would
always stay fresh and so that staff
members could update it. We just had
our status meeting, and as usual I was
zonked from the four hours' sleep and
anxious to get to class and turn in the
paper.
5 p.m.:
Ended up getting a friend to drive
me to class so I could run in and drop
off the paper and skip class to eat lunch.
Went back and took the German exam.
Went home, napped for two hours.
Returned to work, was informed that
my Fantasy Racing graphic incorporated

Woke up today at 1 p.m., got dressed
and went to work. No one here, so I can
get in a good few hours' work on the
Fantasy Racing site. Another client calls
and asks for the status on his site. I

I am under the gun on Fantasy Racing.
I play with the layout of the site for a
while and break it. I fix it and decide to
play a little Quake.
An hour and a half later I get an email
from someone saying that the forum
is broken on ScMusic.Com. Sure 'enough,
the database is acting up, and I lock
down the problem. A friend calls up and
asks if I want to go shoot his pistol at
the range. I take an hour off to go shoot.
I come back, re-layout the sign-up
page on Fantasy Racing, and design a
new title graphic, sans Chevy. Friend
calls up at 11 p.m.and we go to the Elbow
Room to see Uncle Mingo.
Get in a fight because of friend's
drunk brother and head up to Rockafellas
to see the crowd. Back to the apartment

Worked all weekend tidying up the
Racing site for rollout and Sunday
afternoon boss informs me of the REAL
changes they requested, the major layout
alterations, the copy changes, etc.
Well, forget the Geiman presentation,
since the Fantasy Racing site is supposed
to roll out Monday morning, when 1.8
million trading cards hit the stands
containing the address of the site that
isn't finished yet. No pressure.
Just in case you're wondering, this
was a tirade against working as a web
developer.
It's fun and addictive, but not real
friendly towards sleeping or having a
life.
