It points out how a person's image of God, especially a distorted image of God, can actually get in the way of Nthat person's belief. None of us should believe in God in the same way that we did in first grade. Instead, our thoughts and / dreams about God are supposed H to grow as we grow,. Just as college teaches us a mature out- ~~ look on the world, I believe college can also teach us a mature outlook on God. It's okay, then, to lose our "first grade" notion of faith when we go through college. We are meant to have our knowledge of God grow and i expand. But that does not necessarily mean that we've lost our i faith. We've simply lost our first L_ i grade notion of faith. We learned the abc's in first grade r (at least some of us did!); later we formed those letters into magnificent essays. In the same r way, our first grade notions of > faith can become the building ) blocks of a tremendous edifice of faith. i -The Very Reverend Sam Candler ; Dean of Trinity Cathedral L Trinity Cath welcomes the U Commum Sunday Worship Holy Eucharist 7:45 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.n Weekday Worship Morning Prayer Monday-Friday 8:45 i Holy Eucharist Monday 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 1 Wednesday 7:30 a.r Weekday services and 6 p.m. I held in Keenan Chapel.
