Sumter and Heymard streets. A
complainant in Patterson Hall reported
that Joseph Davis, Jr. yelled obscenities
they drove off in a white Chevy Blazer.
When pulled over, he admitted to police
that he had drunk eight beers about two
and a half hours earlier. He failed three
sobriety tests and was jailed pending
bond. He had a blood alcohol content of
.17 percent.
Larceny of bookbag, Russell House
Bookstore. Victim left bookbag in dropoff
at the front of the store. Unknown
person(s) took the bag while the victim
. was shopping. Estimated loss: $340.
Larceny of bookbag, Russell House
Bookstore. $175 of items, including a
Concepts of Genetics book, was taken.
The book was reclaimed after a bookstore
employee bought back the book from
another USC student. The victim was
able to identify the book by notes he had
made in it.
Larceny of computer, BA building. A
lap top was taken from room 759 by
unknown person(s). Estimated loss:
$4800.
He and Wheeler were roommates at
Carolina his final two years.
In 1983 he was named director of
marketing at the Charlotte Motor
Speedway.
Since that time, Hunter has seen the
speedway undergo $75 million worth of
improvements.

Larceny of bicycle, Rutledge Hall. A
bicycle, secured by lock and chain, was
taken by unknown person(s). The bicycle
was not registered with USC. Estimated
loss: $95.

Autobreaking, attempted larceny,
Blossom Garage. Victim stated that he
parked his vehicle in the garage. When
he returned, he found that someone had
broken into it by cutting the top. Six
speaker wires were pulled loose but
nothing was taken.
Illegal use of the telephone
(harassing), McClintock Hall. On Sept.
10, the victim began receiving crank
calls. The subject would hang up after
breathing heavy. On Oct. 5, the subject
left an obscene message on the victim's
answering machine.
Larceny of Clothing, Preston College.
An unknown person(s) removed a satin
night gown, a pair of shorts bearing a
Carolina soccer emblem, and three tee
shirts. Estimated loss: $131.

Rape Crisis Network seeks
volunteer advocates
The Rape Crisis Network is
seeking dedicated volunteer
advocates.
Volunteer advocates respond
to crisis calls on the Network's
24-hour hotline. They also meet
and support child and adult victims
of sexual assault.
The Network volunteer
advocate training is 26 hours long
and is scheduled for Oct. 26-27
and Nov. 2-3. Volunteer advocates
must be at least 18 years old and
have access to transportation.
