There are two characteristics
associated with South Carolina:
beach music and shagging. These
characteristics differentiate SC
from the red clay soil of Georgia
and the tobacco fields of North
Carolina. Simply put, beach
music and shagging make SC a
place like no other.
Likewise, USC has its own
Homecoming tradition which
differentiate it from other
universities; namely, Cockfest.

on Thursday, Sept. 26 when the
USC marching band psyches the
crowd up by playing the fight
song. Then, the cheerleaders

Location: Carolina Coliseum

excitement, as the football players
and Brad Scott prepare to take
the stage. Local television
personality, Joe Pinner, will the
evening's MC. Pinner is a WIS
weather man and also hosts "Mr.
Knowzit," a popular children's
show.
Next, it's time to remember
what Carolina means to you as
the organizational skits begin.
Members from various
organizations will compete
against each other, as they
provide humorous interpretations
of life at Carolina.

and start shagging. With the help

Chairmen of the Board, it will be
time to shag the night away.
The Homecoming Commission
hopes that everyone will come
out for this memorable event, as
we host "The World's Largest
Shag Party."
To make this year's Cockfest

the Carolina Coliseum. Costs for
Cockfest tickets are as follows:
$2 for students, $5 for general
admission, or $8 for a family (2
adults and 2 kids under the age
of 12.)
So, bring your friends, your
family and, of course, yourself
to USC's 1996 Cockfest, which is
being called "The World's Largest
Shag Party."
