"MTVs Buzz Bin" compilation CD
is like most others of its type. It has a
few great songs which may tempt you
to buy it, but many of the tracks just
pass by unnoticed.
"MTVs Buzz Bin" is made up of
alternative music played on MTV from
1988-95.
It is difficult to escape the feeling
that this album has been put together
purely to cash in on the growing
popularity of alternative music. The
problem with much of this album is that
it reflects MTVs policy on alternative
music, which is inherently conservative,
and gives preference to We' alternative
rock bands at the expense of more original
and exciting forms of alternative music.
