later went on to Chapel Hill's law school
and worked for a law firm, but remained
involved with community service.
Before she moved to Columbia, Harrell
did a trek in Nepal, travelled in Thailand
and Malaysia, and was determined not
to work in private practice again.
Harrell has been in Columbia for a
year, but already feels like if s her home.
Teople here understand what a great
world this can be, and they're working
towards that," said Harrell. "They're not
all wrapped up in making money and
having power. That is evidenced by the
fact that it has welcomed City Year."
Harrell hopes to have 100 corps
members in Columbia by the year 2000,
