Woods has been selected as the first director of the South Carolina Cancer Center. The center is a partnership TTon j n: _i_i J i ueiween uo/ anu lucmanu memorial Hospital to support cancer research between the two institutions. Woods, who will join USC's faculty August 1, has been a professor of pediatrics and director of pediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals. He was named Faculty Teacher of the Year for the University of Minnesota Pediatric Residency Program from 1991 to 1994. nnKlicliQ^ on/1 ic fTUUUO ItJ TT1U&IJ UWllUllV/U CVllVX lO the founder and co-editor of the Causes of Childhood Cancer newsletter. He is a member of the extramural board of associate editors for the International Cancer Information Center at the National Institutes of Health. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Woods also has been a reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine and American Journal of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Woods has been a principal investigator on many major National Institutes of Health grants, and he is the principal investigator of the National Cancer Institute's Quebec Neuroblastoma Screening Project. He is associate chairman of the Children's Cancer Study Group in charge of all leukemia studies. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Bucknell University in 1968 and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972. The S.C.
