Alpha fraternities came together to
discuss the differences and similarities
in recruiting methods and to share ideas.
As for having one rush for NPC, NIC
and NPHC at the same time, Holzbach
said that is definitely a possibility.
The NPC is freeing up the reigns a
little" she said. "NPC sororities (at USC)
are incorporating NPHC ideas."
However, Brant said he doesn't think
a single united rush will be immediate.
"My experience is that men's
fraternities, women's sororities, and
African-American fraternities and
sororities all have their own needs and
wants. It would take a tremendous
amount of sharing to come to that point,"
Brant said. "I don't see it happening

"I think we could do more together

"NPHC has a very strong lifetime
commitment," Holzbach said.
She said the traditionally AfricanAmerican
fraternities and sororities see
college as only the beginning of a lifetime
of commitment and service to the
traditionally black fraternities and
sororities. Part of this commitment,
Holzbach said, is due to the small number
of black fraternities and sororities.
Traditionally white fraternities and
sororities focus much more on the
membership during college, she said.
Brant agreed and said white
fraternities also promote service beyond
graduation but not necessarily with their
own fraternity.

Change and acceptance between black
