to work with the baseball team. The
batgirls do a lot more than pick up the
team bats; they have a strong interest
in baseball and want to participate in
school spirit.
Assistant team manager Heather
McLean organizes the batgirls. "We
hope to bring out more people to watch
the game and to help the game go
smoothly," she said.
The batgirls work on the field and
in the stands for every home game.
They also often work for the visiting
team. They must pay close attention

The batgirls are mostly freshmen
and sophomores from all different social
and academic groups.
Freshman Debra Gay said, "I love
baseball, and I just love to be involved
in the game."

said, "I feel like I am a part of the team
and that I get to join in school spirit."
