The polling sites were staffed by
17 volunteers. The volunteers, Johns

distribute athletic tickets and have
been working at the polling sites for
years.
"We basically use the same poll
workers that we have for many, many
years. They are the same people who
handle football tickets ? they just love
coming down to do this," Johns said.
Polling began at 9 a.m. and lasted
until 6 p.m. Thursday. Ballots were
collected and counted Thursday night. i
Ballots are counted by the members
of the Elections Commission. Members
of the Elections Commission are: Tieffa
Harper, Emilie Greene, Nika
Clinkscales, Manisha Shroff, Matt
Pruitt, Doug Driggers, Chico Stanley,
Cedric Rivers (Vice Commissioner)
and Julye Johns (Commissioner).

were also present during the counting
to guarantee that the rules are followed
appropriately.
