What does one think of when
considering what to wear?
Whether it be personal style, job
oriented, or simply what is comfortable,
the clothing we choose is a showcase of
personality and style.
What, then, does this say of the
average student at USC? All one must
do is walk through The Grand
Marketplace, a frequented college haunt,
to see most students dress in exactly the
same manner.

consisting of jeans, t-shirt or collegiate
sweatshirt, flannel overshirt and a baseball
cap worn traditionally or backwards.
USC students have made conformity an
art form.
Though this may seem shallow, first
impressions are usually based on
appearance. Are people trying to say
they have no personalities of their own
and are too afraid of what others think
to express themselves?

I went to Houston. Houston is in Texas.
Its never anyone's idea, but ifs almost
a tradition we take a Christmas road
trip to Houston and possibly branch out
to other cities in Texas.
Everything always seems bigger in
Texas, especially the spirit and celebration
of the winter holidays. One of the neatest
things to do, especially during Christmas,
is to go ice skating in Houston's Galleria
shopping center, one of the biggest and
most elegant malls in the city. It's too
big to finish enjoying in one day, so we
went many, many, many times.

to look, there are many designer
impersonations to be found for next to
nothing.
The bottom line is there are plenty
of resources in our area, so location is
no excuse for denying fashion. The issue
boils down to security. Are you secure
enough in yourself to develop your own
style?
This is not to say one should wear a
three-piece Versace suit with a Versace
tie, shirt and shoes. Expanding your
fashion consciousness sets one apart
from the crowd, and although college

life, the real world is made of individuals.
