Eddie Fogler is looking for some young '
players to step up and assume a
leadership role this season. Freshman
guard BJ McKie is bringing Fogler's *
search to an end after only five regular ^
season games.
USC (4-1) is beginning to elevate j
their play and gel as a team behind the {
steady improvement of McKie. Coach ^
Fogler is very pleased with McKie's play t
and poise in only his first season.
"BJ is extremely mature and
disciplined for a freshman," Fogler said f
before the season. "BJ's teams have f
always won and he has proven to be a r
winner himself. He is an outstanding c
leader, on and off the court."
"I am starting to feel more comfortable {
in my roles on this team," McKie said s
following the Gamecocks 99-81 win over r
Furman Wednesday night. "As I gain f
more and more experience I feel that I I
am eliminating some mistakes and a
playing smarter ball. My main goal is t
