fields or are just interested in how and why people are
religious.
Do professors challenge students' faith in the class
room? Most students see professors as presenters of
various viewpoints without expressing their own. Professors
are careful not to create heated discussions
that will offend students, which is characteristic of

Asking general questions about religious beliefs
prompted several interesting discussions. Subjects included
humanism at USC, prayer in public schools,
religion and politics, tactics of evangelical students
and school funding for religious clubs.
Students rarely turn down a chance to expound
their beliefs, and we'd like to hear from you. If you feel
