Two more Tab Five* sign up for NBA draft
University of Michigan juniors Jawan Howard and Jalen Rose have added
their names to the list of underclassmen who have declared for this summer's
NBA draft.
Rose and Howard were two of the vaunted Michigan 1992 recruiting class,
which included Golden State's 1994 Rookie of the Year candidate Chris
Webber.

Braves look to go 14-1
The Atlanta Braves took on the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday night, looking
to improve to 14-1 on the season.
The Braves hit back-to-back-to-back home runs for the second time in
three days Monday night. Ryan Klesko, Fred McGriff and David Justice turned
the trick Monday following the McGriff, Terry Pendleton and Tony Tarasco
trio Friday against the Chicago Cubs.

Chicago White Sox' outfielder Tim Raines celebrated "Patriots' Day" Monday

Schott lights up, breaks stadium smoking ban
Cincinnati Reds' owner Marge Schott continues to catch heat for smoking
in her front-row seat at Riverfront Stadium.
Todd Portune, a member of the city council who voted to ban smoking
at the stadium, said he spoke with Schott about the matter Monday.
A city anti-smoking organization has asked baseball's acting commissioner,
Bud Selie. to intervene if Schott continues to nuffawav at pames

Schott told the Associated Press Friday that she doesn't care if fins at the

Incidentally, the ban contains a misdemeanor charge and $100 fine for
smoking in the stadium.
'Superconference' could become reality
The Dallas Morning News announced Tuesday that the 10-member Western
Athletic Conference is ready to add six more teams before 1996.
The WAC could add Southern Methodist, Texas Christian and Tulsa universities
in 1995, with UNLV, San Jose State and Rice rounding out the 16team
conference in 1996.
The SEC is currently the nation's largest conference, with 12 schools.
Rangers duplicate feat
The New York Rangers crushed the New York Islanders 6-0 Monday in
Game 2 of their Stanley Cup playoff series.
The Rangers defeated the Isles 6-0 Sunday and are trying to win their first
Stanley Cup title since 1940.
