' to see the movie "Benny

about The Proclaimers
and their 1993 hit,
"I'm Gonna Be (500 E9lk
Miles)." But most peo- j
pie don't know that L/lip
these twins from Scot- ?mmmm
land, who have been Coi
around since 1987,
are popular in Canada,
the UK and Europe.
The Proclaimers third and latest al
bum, "Hit the Highway," is a good introduction
to Craig and Charlie Reid's
S brand of soul, R&B and gospel-inspired
rock. The Proclaimers' straightforward
style isn't obviously commercial,
which is a refreshing change
from the dime-a-dozen alternative
bands that fill the soundtracks ol
every new movie.
I first heard The Proclaimers in
1989 when their album "Sunshine on
Leith," which included the single "I'm
