USC ? The Lady Gamecock
volleyball team lost to the College
of Charleston Lady Cougars 15-12,
15-5, 10-15, 14-16, 7-15 gjgj
Wednesday night in the Sol Blatt
P.E. Center before a raucous crowd
of 169 fans.
With the loss, USC moved to 128
overall and 3-2 in the SEC. ,The
College of Charleston advanced to
23-5 overall and 5-2 in the Trans
American Conference. The match
& was the first time this season the
Lady Gamecocks have played a
five-game match. In a fifth game,
rally scoring, which means every
play results in a point regardless of
which team is serving, is used.
"The College of Charleston competed
a lot better this time from the
first time we played them," USC
Coach Kim Hudson said. "This was
the first time we played rally scoring
this season. It really hurt us
because we are not an error-free
team. We had seven unforced
| errors that gave them points in the
fifth game."
USC collected four solo blocks
and 34 blogk assists as a team. |9
Junior outside hitter Amy
Iannoccari fought hard, recording
14 kills in 41 attempts and hitting 1
.317 with one error. She led the P
team with 23 digs.
Senior middle blocker Jennifer

three solo blocks and seven
