DIRECTIONS:
Take 1-20 to Florence, where it runs into 1-95. Take
1-95-N toward Dillon and stop at the sombrero. Don't
worry if you feel lost-the billboards will lead the way.
The trip of 104 miles will take about an hour and 45
minutes.

world, the road to South of the Border is lined
with dozens of hokey billboards leading to... a
giant sombrero towering over 350 acres of the
most certifiably cheezy attractions imaginable.
Still, it is an experience not to missed,
especially if you have the digestive
constitution to handle the chili dog.
Places to eat
At South of the Border, you can get everything from fine
prime rib to delicious Mexican food. Just don t forget the
Turns.
The Sombrero Room Restaurant and Pedro's Coffee Shop
offer fine family dining.
Pedro's Hot Tamale, Diner and Hot Dog Stand offers what
is quite probably the meanest chili dog on the east coast.
Don't eat one unless you plan to spend the night.
Las Maracas features steaks, prime rib and seafood.
Pedro's Ice Cream Fiesta features twenty tasty flavors of
frozen dairy deliciousness.

Attractions
South of the Border features a plethora of wildly fun
activities for the entire family. Sure, it's tacky, but what
can you say about a truck stop with its own zip code

Sombrero Observation Tower, with a glass elevator, is

The Golf of Mexico, a unique mini-golf course.
Pedro's Trolley, a reproduction of a typical 1890 San

Bingo at the Border Convention Center every Friday,
Saturday and Sunday night.
Fort Pedro has a whole slew of fireworks, although after
a meal, you'll probably be generating your own.
Other attractions include Pedro's Himalaya, Pedro's Tub
Ride, Pedro's Sombrero Ride, The Parachute Drop, The
Carolina-Upper Mexico Railway, The Red Baron
Airplane Ride and a ferris wheel.

South of the Border offers both fine motel and camp
