It was a drag! '
This was the general consensus 1
from party-goers who attended the
1993 Greekfest stepshow, concert :
and party Saturday night after the
third annual Palmetto Classic football
game.
ihe football game is held every
year at Williams Brice Stadium. ^
S.C. State always plays another (
historically African-American col- (
lege football team.
This year, S.C. State played
Florida A & M University. S.C. State
lost 21-17. j
Thousands of people from across <
the Southeast were in town for the .
game and to enjoy the festivities ,
afterward. I
The State reported 23,400 fans j
attended the 2 p.m. football game.
The fourth annual Greekfest, ,
which was held at the Columbia ]
Bomber's Stadium, attracted more
than 1,000 people. i
And, for the most part, it was a <
waste of time.
At first, it was really hype. i
Disc jockey Prince Ice, Dwayne
Fischer, turned the crowd out from '
'7:30 p.ttV. to 8:30 p.m. , ^ 1

The promoters, including
hannon Marshall of Columbia,
tessed up by allowing about 30
linutes of intermission between
lystic Vibrations and the Zeta Phi

People were getting restless.
However, the Zetas turned it out.
They stepped, and the crowd
)ared with applause.
People were having a good time!

"Dem Boiz and Little Kocheez
performed, but KC Smooth and
Splack Attack didn't show," she
said.
She added that none of the other
step teams performed either.
And to really make things worse,
the crowd was supposed to have
been invited onto the field for a
party that wasn't supposed to end
until the last person left.
1 Edwards informed me that after
sitting through the entire show and
putting up with groups not showing
up, the crowd members were told
that they couldn't party on the field
' because doing so would be a fire
hazard.
The only good thing that came
out of this half-done, sorry excuse
