Quality is a high priority at The
Purple Cow. The store's motto is a
simple one: "You'll always get
small store services at large store
prices."
The Purple Cow may look small
from the outside, but it's much
more than a convenience store,
High said. "We have a good

everything is always fresh," she
said. "We are competitively priced,
too."
"I would never buy meat anywhere
else," Mueller said. "The
prices are great, even on a student's
budget."
The Purple Cow offers services
unlike those in large chain stores,
such as an account system similar
to USC's cash card program.

This is great for single students
cooking for one. "The meat is cut (
on the premises and can be made
to any portion, even if someone
just wants one pork chop," High
said.
For students who like how something
looks but aren't sure how to
cook it, they will be happy to offer
suggestions, High said.
The Purple Cow also has a
bimonthly newsletter of the same
name that has a calendar of the
meals offered in the "Take Supper
Home" program. It also charts lowfat
foods and has articles 011^

For Valentine's Day, The Purple
Cow has heart-shaped cookies for
