She also has a job with a contro- ^

The job is exotic dancing, com- ?
monly called stripping, and it
financially helps several young ^
women attend USC.
"I can work three nights a week h
and pay all the bills and tuition and a
have time to study ... I make good
grades," Ginger said. (To protect P
the identities of the dancers cited
in this story, their real names are 1
not used.)
Both Ginger and another dancer, h
Roxanne, work at Columbia's d'
Chippendolls, a strip bar on a:
Rosewood Drive. Chippendolls ai
employs about 30 dancers, about
six of whom attend USC. R
Both students said exotic danc- n
ing helps pay for their tuition f?
because they could not afford
* school if they had "regular" jobs. ir
"My parents couldn't afford college,
and I didn't want to spend the 12
rest of my life paying off a student m
loan," Roxanne said. "Working at si
Chippendolls pays my way through re
college."
Ginger said another s?
Chippendolls dancer has been tc
accepted to the USC law program. C
