Magic Johnson announced his
return to the National Basketball
Association at a Tuesday press
conference in Los Angeles.
Johnson will return to the Los
Angeles Lakers after a one-year
absence from the NBA after he
learned he had contracted the
HIV virus.
After competing in the summer

Johnson was cleared to play professional
basketball again.
Johnson said he will not play
back to back games and will only
play between 50 to 60 games this
season.
Johnson said he has has gained
15 pounds and has worked out to ||
get in shape for the upcoming
season.
He said he and his wife,
Cookie, have been praying that
he would be able to return. mm

prayers,"Johnson said.
Johnson retired on Nov. 9 last
year when he announced he had
tested HIV positive.
