The 1992-93 USC basketball
season is already an uphill battle.
Four of USC's top recruits have
been lost due to academic and personal
problems. Cortez Barnes,
Eric Baker, Percy Eberhart and
Carlos Turner were all recruited by
USC, but will not see action in
Gamecock uniforms this year.
Barnes, of Hutchinson Junior
College in Kansas, will not be a

Ah, the sounds of summertime
? the crack of the bat, the echo of
the basketball on the outdoor
asphalt, the sound of summer football
practice and the crack of plastic
hockey sticks on the outdoor
courts at Sol Blatt P.E. Center.
Plastic hockey sticks, you ask?
This is Columbia, not Buffalo,
you say. Well, a growing group of
Carolina students are working to
make Rollerhockey a year-round
sport in the heart of the South.
Welcome to the world of
Rollerhockev. a hvbrid between ice
J ' J
hockey and roller skating, using inline
skates. This is the third semester
Rollerhockey has been an officially-sanctioned
club sport at USC.
This spring, the club will be eligible
for money from the student
activity funds. This money will
most likely be used for the purchase
of goals and goalie equipment.
The club has no fees or dues,
although there may be a small fee
