Gold nug?
From Staff Reports
Gold nuggets, flecks, strands,
crystals and coins will adorn a new
exhibit opening Aug. 30 at USC's
McKissick Museum.
The exhibit, "Finding Gold: The
History of Gold Mining in the
Southern Piedmont," examines the
history and processes of gold mining
in the Carolinas and Georgia
and features outstanding gold specimins
from Harvard University's
mineralogical museum.
Though many people think of
the 1849 California gold rush as
the discovery of gold in the United
States, gold actually was first
found in America 50 years earlier

Purchasing a Movie Pass enables
a student to attend 14 movies for
$15. Pass holders will be admitted
to nine $2 movies and five $1
movies.
The idea for movie passes originated
within CPU, graduate assistant
Falicia Hart said.

amazing how many students don't
even know the Russell House has a
movie theater."
A limited number of passes are
only available for fall and can be
purchased from the CPU office in
the Russell House.
The passes are non-transferable,
and can be used with any movie
offered this fall except for Wayne's
World and Alien 3, due to restrictions
from the distributor.
Interested students should contact
Lori Smith or Falicia Hart at
777-7130 for more information.
Sale times will be posted on the
CPU door as soon as they are
available.
Complete semester movie schedules
are also available from the
CPU office.
