It's late, you have a thirst for
blood and a hunger for flesh. The
only thing that will shake your
desire is a field of corpses and
busty young coeds fated to get the
axe...or a good horror video.
These passions drove me and my
best friend, Wally, to write this
guide to our favorite horror flicks
available at the local video store.
So grab your coat and keys and
start up the car, we'll fill you in on
the way.
Rollerblade ? Naked nuns skating
the post-holocaust cities armed
with switchblades and hockey
sticks destined to save the world.
'Nuff said.
Servants of the Twilight ? In
the spirit of movies like The Omen,
the antichrist is here and he's in
daycare! Pursued by a fanatical
church, the antichrist's mother
hires a private investigator in this
cross between The Exorcist and
Die Hard.
Night of the Demons ? A predictable
teenage sleepover at an
abandoned morgue is haunted by a
two-bit demon. He possesses the
teens one by one leaving a trail of
broken flesh. What sets this movie
apart is when this possessed chick
takes -a tube of lipstick and...well,
you watch it (Personally, I could

WCFG-TV turns over
new, professional leaf
By LEE CLONTZ
Carolina! Editor
USC's student-run television
station, WCFG, has a new name
and a new philosophy toward programming.
WCFG-TV, available only on
Carolina Cablevision Channel 10,
has been in existence, as CTV, for
nearly two years.
The change in call letters was
due to the station's new commitment
to professionalism, said
Patrick Bryant.
Bryant, operations manager for
WCFG and head of newly-formed
WCFG Productions, cited a number
of new goals and directions of
the station.
Before, we were just an organization,
just doing all this to have
fun. We changed the name to start I?
over again with a new image of r~
professionalship," Bryant said.
"Now we're doing it for a reason:
to inform and entertain," he I
said.
According to Bryant, one reason
for the new attitude at WCFG is its ,
official induction into Student
Media this December.
To become involved in WCFG,
one first starts as a writer or cameraperson.
As they become more
proficient, they can advance
through the ranks and may be
asked to join WCFG-Productions. /
WCFG Productions, the sta- \
tion's production house, is responsible
for producing advertisements
and training videos. Once students
are selected to work in production,
they are eligible to be paid.
Production house staff, are
selected from station members that
become proficient in every aspect
of television production, from
camera to direction, Bryant said.
Other possiblities include a contract
with the Carolina Program
Union which would allow live acts
in the Golden Spur to be taped and
replayed on WCFG.
Bryant said WCFG is also con
siaenng piaying movies iwice a
week.
WCFG is having an open organizational
meeting at 7 p.m. on
Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Studio A in
the Carolina Coliseum.
According to Bryant, positions
are open in almost any area,
including newswriting, advertising
and production.
